Patrones Costura Facil n. 29

¡Hola!
Esta mañana he ido a la papelería a comprar papel de seda y de paso echarle un ojo al Burda que no compro desde Diciembre. (Que esté a dieta, no quiere decir que no pueda mirar el menú ;)
Y justo al lado estaba el número 29 de costura facil de Patrones. Pues esa si que se vino conmigo. Ahora os cuento por qué.

This morning I went to buy some tracing paper and to have a look at the latest Burda issue. I don´t buy Burdas since last December (But to be on a diet doesn´t mean you can´t have a look at the menu ;)
Right beside it, there was number 29 of easy sew from Patrones. Oh, and that came home with me. Why?

Primero un montón de cosítas fáciles y casuales

Segundo y más importante. BIKINIS! Y de muchas formas. Hasta braguita brasileña y todo, este Patrones está de un moderno...

Secondly and more importantly: BIKINIS! And in different shapes. They even feature a brazilian bikini bottom, cutting edge, way to go Patrones!

Me gusta mucho el diseño del de la izquierda. El de la derecha es el de cortinilla de toda la vida..

¡Que pose por favor, señorita! El de la derecha es el que lleva la brasileña. Y el diseño del suje tambien mola.

Very unfortunate pose, girl on the left! The one on the right is the one with the brazilian bottom and I like the top design.

Otro bikini y pantalones cargo fáciles. Para andar por la playa. Y con esa blusa finita: Perfecto

Another bikini and cargo pants. Perfect for the beach. And that long blouse. Like it!

Tenemos la sección blanca y pura. La foto de la bici me recuerda a Yoshimi durante el MMM13. Solo que ella se abotona las blusas.

There is a white section. The photo on the right reminds me of Yoshimi during MMM 13. But

 she buttons up her shirts!

Una sección de tops y acompañantes. ¿Vosotras sabiais que los pantalones esos rosas se llaman Pantacourts? Yo ni idea. Si es que soy mas cateta...

Y que me decís del de top de rayas? ¿De verdad que el pecho tiene que quedar ahí? Un poco feo el efecto...y eso que lo he visto mucho por la calle.

A section of tops and company. I didn´t know that kind of pants are called Pantacourts. But they are.

And what about the striped top? Do the boobs really have to be at that level? I´ve seen the effect in the streets, on girls wearing similar tops but I found it very unflattering!

Estoy empezando a pensar que lo de "minimal" es por que las faldas son azín: Mínimas

I´m guessing "minimal" is for the lenght of the skirts

De aquí me gusta todo, menos el bajo del vestido. Chica tápate!

I like everything from here except the lenght on the dress. Girl you´ll catch your death on that!

Y como traca final esto que voy a conservar como oro en paño porque no tengo ni idea de primeras ni segundas pruebas y arreglos. Esto me lo aprendo de memoria este verano.

Seam Allowance Guide Review

I have to admit that when HOLLIE contacted me, I had no idea this device existed, so I was very excited to discover that there was a tool that could actually make my sewing life easier.
From minute one of the said life, I´ve tried all the possible ways of working with Burda patterns, or any kind that didn´t include the  seam allowance. I tried  marking the fabric around the pieces then extra marking around those for the cutting. I tried the eyeballing approach: that went really bad as you might suppose. And what I do right now that is tracing the pattern on the paper then adding the seam allowance to it, which takes quite a long time.
Where was I? Yes. Hollie contacted me and ask me if I could write a review of her tool. I was thrilled! So when the "SAG"(Seam Allowance Guide from now on?) came home I couldn´t wait to use it on a Buda top pattern.
The very clever SAG is a strong magnet that you can attach anywhere you feel confortable on your scissors. There are two in each packet:
The GREEN one for  scissors blades with no slope or to attach at the pivot.
The YELLOW one for scisssor blades with a slope
At   SEAM ALLOWANCE GUIDE you can find all the informacion on how to use it, and as all genius things in life it is quite easy.
My impression after using it: Excellent for straight lines. Needs a little practice at the curves, but after you get the knack of it you are ready to cut anything with a very precise seam allowance

Cuando HOLLIE se puso en contacto conmigo para hacer una reseña de su invento, no tenía ni idea que existía algo similar que hiciera mi vida costurera más sencilla.
Desde que empecé a coser he probado diferentes métodos para trabajar con los patrones de Burda, o cualquiera que no tenga margen de costura incluida: cortar el patrón en papel, ponerlo sobre la tela, marcarlo y luego marcar el margen...demasiado trabajo, y algunas telas son difíciles. Tambien el método "A ojo". No lo probeis: no funciona :)
Ahora lo que hago es añadirle el margen de costura sobre papel, ponerlo sobre la tela con alfileres y cortar.

Pero con este aparatito, SEAM ALLOWANCE GUIDE o Guía para Margen de Costura, ya no hace falta.
¿Que es? Cada paquete trae dos imanes uno VERDE para tijeras que no tienen inclinación en la hoja o para pegarlo al eje y el AMARILLO que se usa en tijeras con inclinación. En el link del aparato hay un video muy claro sobre como se usa, pero como todas las cosas geniales es muy sencillo:
Se pega el imán a la tijera, puedes elegir la distancia a la punta que te venga bien, marcas en la tela el margen de costura que vas a usar, aplicas la tijera con el imán y colocas la banda negra justo al canto del patrón y ya está,¡ solo tienes que empezar a cortar!
Vale para tijeras para zurdos, solo que tendrías que cortar en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj.
Después de usarlo puedo deciros que para las lineas rectas es perfecto, para las curvas he tenido que practicar un poco, pero en seguida le he cogido el truco y me quedan unos márgenes de costura muy parejos.
En la página podeis ver más detalles. El precio es 15 dolares australianos, un poco más de 12 euros al cambio, y lo mejor es que no hay gastos de envio.¿ No es genial?
