Mi hija vive en chandal, cuando no es waterpolo es gim
nasia rítmica y si no, gimnasia del cole. Esta vez no se ha dejado poner cuellos bebé ni muñequitas, queria un chandal con "pantalón cagao" (perdón por la expresión) como sus primas que son muy estilosas y muy guapas y de vez en cuando ALGO COSO PARA ELLAS

My daughter lives inside a tracksuit: when she is not playing waterpolo, she is cartwheeling with the rythmic gymnastic team or it´s phys ed day at school. This year she wanted to have her say and she chose the pants design. Drop crotch style just like her cousins who are very stylish and sometime I SEW FOR THEM TOO

Y tenia que haber leido mejor sus entradas por que el pantalón es anchísimo. Para la talla de mi hija le he tenido que quitar 17cm de atrás y 13 de delante. Se lo he quitado de el medio. A mi personalmente no me gusta como ha quedado pero la niña está encantada así que yo chitón!

And I should have read their posts thoroughly because the pattern is too wide. For my daughter size It was 17cm wider in the back and 13 in the front. I took all that from the center. Personally I don´t like the result, but she is thrilled with the pants!

La parte de arriba ha ido surgiendo a lo loco. Le saqué el patrón de manga murcielago basandome en una camiseta suya de manga larga. Luego le añadí ese panel en el centro para hacer unos bolsillos y le puse esa tira de lentejuela arriba solo por una razón: Que en ese momento estaba dentro de mi campo de visión. (era la etiqueta de un pantalón vaquero que se le habia quedado pequeño y yo como las urracas, cosa brillante que veo, la guardo)

The top was a self-evolving thing. First I made the bat sleeve pattern from one of her t-shirts. Then I added the central pannel to make some pockets and I sewed the sequins up there just because they happened to be in my visual area at the moment (they actually were the label of some old jeans)

Pero el top es todo suyo. Mira, no sabia yo que tenía bolsillos.
But the top is hers. Weird pockets and all!

Con tanto espacio por aqui, es raro que no me hayan puesto más bolsillos
What? No back pockets? Sure there is plenty of room for fifteen of  them!

¿Recordais esta tela no? La del mi top a rayas que inicialmente iba a ser un chandal para mi hija... Me sentía un poco egoista, así que tardé ná y menos en ir a por más tela y poner manos a la obra. Y aún me queda 1 metro y cuarto, y con lo facil que es de trabajar, seguro que vuelve a aparecer por aquí.

Remember this fabric? From my striped top that never became a tracksuit as intended. I felt so selfish I run to the store to get some more and start sewing for her. I still have more of it and as it is so easy to work with, you´ll probably see it again.

Le añadí un aplique de una muñequita como de recortable antiguo, tengo guardadas unas cuantas más por que son preciosas. Las compré en una tienta de patchwork al mismo tiempo que el Thermo-web que es lo que hace que se fije a la tela y no se mueva mientras la coses bien con la máquina. Tambien le puse una puntilla por alrededor, de esas que sobran de otros proyectos. Eso dió mas trabajito.

I added an appliqué, it´s an old doll cutout, I bought this one and some others in the same store I buy the Thermoweb, what I use for this kind of things. So useful. I added the lace trimming around it, leftover from other proyects. That was the only difficult part here.



Los pantalones son muy sencillitos. Elástico arriba y un cordón más de adorno que por necesidad.

The pants are so simple. Elastic and some cord in the waistband.

Los cuellos y las coderas, tambien hechas de tela sobrante del vestido de "Espejito Espejito".¡ Estoy que lo reciclo!

The collar and elbow patchs are leftover from another dress I made for her. Hey! Recycling is great!

Y aquí tenemos a la peque-presa esperando el veredicto... Inocente!
