¿No os pasa a veces que veis una tela y os quedais enamoradas pero no la llevais por que
A- no la visualizais convertida en prenda
B-es cara
C-no sabeis trabajar con ella?
Eso es lo que me pasó con esta: pasé varias veces por la tienda pero no me atrevía a llevarla, hasta que me dió el siroco.
En casa tenía el patrón de este top y falda. Es Vogue 1247 Rachel CoMey.
He visto versiones estupendas como la de Carolyn , que fué la razón por la que compré este patrón.
Doesn´t it happen to you sometimes that you spot a fabric and fall in love with it but you don´t take it home because:
A- You don´t visualise it as any kind of garment.
B- It´s expensive
C- You don´t know how to work with it?
That happened to me with this fabric. I went to the store several times but didn´t dare to buy it then one day I said "What the ...?" and took it along.
I had this pattern at home. Vogue 1247, Rache Comey. I saw so many beatiful versions of it!
Carolyn´s is the reason why I bought this pattern is the first place.
Interesantes lineas y cortes en el top¿verdad?
Como la ignorancia es la madre del atrevimiento, con esa tela resbalosa y dificil de trabajar, voy y me lo hago.
Sangre (es que me pincho mucho con los alfileres), sudor y lágrimas. ¡Canutas las he pasado! El resultado ha sido solo pasable, las lineas convergentes de las costuras (AL BIES!!!) no están muy alineadas.
Interesting lines on the top, aren´t they?
As you know, fools rush in, so in I went! The fabric started to slip and slither, and I started sweating and swearing. The result is less than average, the converging lines (on- the- bias, how didn´t I see it?) are not very...well,converging.
Se supone que hay que hacer costuras francesas en cada una de las costuras (valga la rebuznancia) y sí que las hice, que hay que probar de todo, pero no quedaron muy estupendas.
To add insult to injury, all the seams are french seams. I tried alright but they didn´t turn out great
¡El bajo, otro bajo-n! Ni modo de que todo estuviera parejo. Cuando llegué al las vistas de las mangas ya me dí por vencida, las fruncí un poco y le cosí un botón rojo.
Me salva la tela, por que nadie se fija en la estructura con este print psicodélico-colorín.
The hemline- another disappointment. I was difficult to turn , press and sew, specially in the hip area. When I was about to attach the sleeve bands it was too late, I was too tired , I gathered up the sleeves a little bit, it looked quite right , so I sewed a button on. There you go!
Fortunately the colorful print is very forgiving and nobody notices the mistakes.
La cosa no queda aquí: he vuelto a repetir el patrón y me he hecho otro top. Está terminado, pero aun no tengo fotos.Lo he hecho en algodón finito, finito... ya vereis que mono!
I´m a stubbon sewist: I just finished another version in a different fabric, see if I can get the photos taken.
En otro orden de cosas el Me-Made-May 12 ya ha terminado.Me ha encantado la experiencia
he conocido a un montón de costureras que lo hacen maravillosamente y que te apoyan con sus animos y comentarios. Esto es lo que he llevado estos dias:
