...Y después hice unos pantalones...

Porque me sobraba tela,claro. Es lo que tiene comprar telas africanas, que no te las venden por metro, si no 5 y pico metros a la vez...creo. Igual son 6

Because I had serious left over fabric. That's the thing about buying African wax, that you have to buy the whole thing, not just a couple of meters...I'm not complaining, just stating a fact.

Y como no encontraba un patrón que me gustara, agarré un pantalón de pijama de estos de Primark (sí, es que me gustan, espero que no sea un crimen estilista) lo corté y saqué el patrón. Lo malo es que después lo he tirado. Otro crimen.

And as I couldn't find a pants pattern that I liked, I took some old Primark pj's and ripped them appart (they were old, couldn't fight back, hah!) I wish I would have kept the pattern, but for some silly reason, maybe a seasonal cleaning madness, they landed in the dustbin.

Jugué con el orillo para hacer los bolsillos. Me gusta el efecto.

The Inverted Box Pleat Skirt

¡Hola! Aquí estamos otra vez.

¿Ya os había contado que estoy liada con las clases de CRAFTSY? Pues eso.

He echado muchas horas de ver, tomar notas, hacer números (que yo soy de letras, nenas y eso está en pulgadas!) echar lineas, que si el patrón base que si el "sloper" que si el "ease". (Ni idea de como se traduce eso)

Total, que después de unas cuantas muselinas, y dentro del curso de las faldas Patternmaking basics: The Skirt Sloper he hecho esta falda que ya se ha quedado con el nombre "Falda de Profe de Inglés" En realidad es una prueba y usé una tela a la que tengo un poco de manía, pero una vez hecha ¡oye, que me ha gustado! Que me veo yo como muy profesional...

Did I tell you I´m really busy with some CRAFTSY classes? Well, I am.

I´ve been watching carefully, taking notes, taking measures, doing my math, drawing lines, drawing a moulage, a sloper...the works! 

After some muslins and for the class Patternmaking basics: The Skirt Sloper I´ve made this skirt. It even has a name "The English Teacher Skirt". It is really another muslin, made of a fabric I didn´t like much, but once finished I quite like it! It makes me feel very "grown up" very professional! :D

Ni siquiera está forrada, pero he terminado las costuras y el bajo con bies.

Una de las cosas que podían ir mal es que el pliegue quedase abierto cuando estás de pie. ¡Prueba superada!

It is not even lined, but I finished the seams with bias tape.

One of the things that could go wrong was that the pleat wouldn´t close when standing...check!

La costura del medio ha quedado un poco "fuera de hilo" pero es un error de corte. No quise meter la costura para arreglarlo un poco por si me cargaba el pliegue. Recordad que es/era una muselina...

The center seam is a bit off grain. It is a cutting mistake. I didn´t try to fix that sewing it because I thought it would affect the pleat. Remember it is/was a muslin

La vista lateral no tiene nada de especial, pero al llegar a la parte de atras... ¡Horreur! ¿Que son esas arrugas horizontales debajo de la cinturilla?

Y más importante: ¿Porqué pasa eso?

The side view has nothing remarkable but when we get to the back... What it that! What are those horizontal

wrinkles under the waistband?

And most importantly why does that happen?

¿Puede ser que he subido un par de kilos desde que me tomé las medidas? ¿Puede ser que tengo una espalda rara,rara?

Pichi de Peque. A Simple Dress

¡Hola otra vez!
Os queria enseñar este pichi que le hice a Julia hace tiempo pero hasta ahora no lo había puesto.
Es una cosa absolutamente sencilla pero para mí es especial porque:
-Es la primera cosa que coso a los niños sin patrón de Burda ni de nada, sacandolo con las medidas. Todavía me doy palmaditas en la espalda.
- primera cosa que coso con un tejido natural...¡Creo que hasta huele a oveja cuando lo plancho!
-Lleva los mismos colores que el uniforme (no obligatorio) del colegio, pero a mi esto me parece más cómodo y abrigado.

I wanted to show you this really simple dress I made for my daughter Julia a while ago, she can wear it now that the temperatures dropped.
It is special to me because I drew the pattern according to her measures. Does that count for pattern making? Also I think this is the first time I use a natural fabric,( I could swear I smelled wet sheep when I ironed this thing) and also the colours are the same as the unofficial uniform at my daughter´s school.

Le han puesto aparato en los dientes de abajo a la pobrecita.
She´s got braces in the lower teeth, the poor dear.

Una cremallera atras, dos bolsillos para poder llenarlos de piedras...

A zipper in the back, two patch pocket to fill with rocks...

Y se ganó el reloj a pulso por aprender a decir la hora.
And she earned the watch because she learnt  how to tell the time really quickly

¡Y andando!
Le hice unas vistas y lo forré , está arrugadillo despues de llevarlo puesto toda la mañana.

I added facings and lining, too. Please excuse the wrinkles, she´s been wearing it all morning.

Sigo trabajando en el mundo de la lencería, que me está dando muchos quebraderos de cabeza, pero creo que al final saldrá algo medio decente. Un besito.

In other news I carry on struggling my way through the lingerie word, and it´s giving me a lot of hard times but I guess I´ll get something half decent in the end.
