Vogue 8489 at Comedie Française

Comedie Française
¡Hola!

Hello! At last I can show you my New-Year's-Eve dress... at the end of February.
Well, I wanted to show it to you in a nice environment, because I really like this dress, so we took it to the theater. La Comedie Française.
I was totally shocked to find out that all the other people there that night have come to watch something other than my dress! Like a Victor Hugo's play, Lucrecia Borgia!
Just kidding! I enjoyed the play a lot. Staging and acting were superb.

Besides, the whole theater was "dressed" in maroon velvet, matching my dress. Aren't they thoughtful?

Maybe you are wondering about the dress? Well, it's Vogue 8489
I've made it twice already. One of the versions seems quite popular:  Vestido formal
This time I made it really long. I had to sacrifice fullness for the sake of the lenght, though.
The fabric was bought in Paris too. It´s a knit with a great drape to it.
Details are fake leather, that is really soft to the touch. I've already made some trousers with it.

We forgot a back photo, with all the excitement. Next time.
That's all from me. I'm proyect-less and time-less. The usual, you know: Life
A big hug to all of you

  20. You look gorgeous as always! I love the fake leather accents. Was that not quite tricky to sew to the knit fabric? I've never tried sewing knit and non-knit fabric together as I always thought it would be too hard but yours looks so neat!

  24. Hello from Texas, Merche! I've missed seeing you and will keep up with your blog. I've been really lazy about keeping mine up. I'd rather be sewing. Hope you are well and we are WAY behind getting together for that martini!
