Progresos (o no) en el top. Donna Karan top -In progress.

Estoy metiendo el turbo para presentar el top al concurso, por que la semana que viene me toca corregir examenes y la siguiente ya Semana Santa. Sin cole, no hay costura.

I´m trying to be as quick as I can to finish this top to enter made-by-rae´s spring top sewalong

Ayer corte la tela, que es saten , pero es elástica a lo ancho. El patrón tiene "na" menos que 10 piezas, casi todas hay que cortarlas dobles y algunas cuatro veces.

Yesterday I cut the fabric. Satin, but it´s eslastic widewise. The pattern has got 10 pieces, some of them must be cut 4 times.

Despues me "jarté" de marcar las piezas. Esta de aquí abajo es el faldón trasero.

After that I started marking the fabric with taylor tacks. 2 gazillion of them.

Hoy otra panzada a hivanar pliegues y coserlos. Los pliegues delanteros bien, no han dado problemas.

Today was fun day: basting and basting: pleats, seam allowances, you name it! The pleats in the front behaved themselves...

¡Pero los traseros! ¡Grrrr! A los tiburones!

But the back pleats?  Feed them to the sharks!

Y cuando por fin llego a un llano para poder coger aire antes de empezar otro repecho con los fruncidos, voy y quemo no una si no dos veces el costadillo trasero, otra vez cortar, marcar... 2 VECES. Doble ¡Grrrr!

And just when I think the worst part is done I go and burn the back side piece  with my iron not once, but two times! I had to cut two pieces, mark them twice... Double portion for the sharks!

Esto es lo que pasa cuando no tienes habitación de costura, que al final terminas trabajando en una mesa de Winnie the Pooh con un pirata o una jirafa haciendote compañía. Gente comprensiva, oye!

When you have no sewing room to speak of, it´s not unusual to end up sewing on a Winnie the Pooh table in the company of pirates, giraffes and the like...Sympathetic bunch.

A ver que pasa mañana.
