 A por los pantalones.
¿Os acordais del Vogue 1039? Si, si el del Pleaty Pleats. Tenía tambien el patrón para los pantalones, al tobillo, pitillo... En fín. Esto es lo que ha salido.

Do you remember Vogue 1039? The Pleaty Pleats one. It also enclosed the pants pattern... and this is the result.

Para mí son pantalones Folclorico tribales...para mi marido son directamente de payaseta.
Imposible casar los mega-lunares. Algunos han caido en lugares poco afortunados.

What for me are tribal pants, for my husband are kind of clownish pants.
Mission imposible to match those mega-polka dots. Some of them landed in very unfortunate places.

Problemas de tela aparte, el patrón estaba muy bien. Perfecto de todo...excepto la anchura de la pernera. 4 cm. de contorno de pierna le he tenido que quitar (1 cm de cada margen de costura)
Los bolsillos son muy originales y hasta tiene uno chiquitín para las moneditas...tan mono!

Fabric choices apart, the pattern was excellent. Perfect but for the leg width. I had to take in 1 cm from each seam allowance. The pockets are quite original and there is a little one for the coins that is so cute.

El problema es que no me lo voy a poder poner con el top Pleaty pleats por que es demasiado "cantoso". Así que estoy a a busqueda del patrón de pantalon pitillo perfecto para hacerlo en negro liso... y creo que lo he encontrado, mmmmhaa,ha,ha! Nos vemos!

The problem is that I can´t wear these pants with the Pleaty Pleats, it´s too much! So I´m looking for the perfect slim fit pants pattern to make it in solid black...and I think I found it! See you soon!

Ayudadme a escoger un patron! Please, help me choose a Pattern!

¡Hola! ¿Os acordais de este georgette que compré de saldo? Como muy bien decia Ana de quepuedohacerconesto me tengo que dar prisa antes de que se pase de moda.  Hay 3 metros de tela y me he vuelto loca mirando todas las revistas. Me gustaría algo muy ponible y solo me he quedado con estas opciones. Seguro que hay más pero a mi se me han pasado. A ver si me podeis echar una mano.

Do you remember this georgette I bought at a sale? Is that mint colour and as my friend Ana pointed out, I better make something with it soon, before it gets dated.

I´ve got 3 meters of it, and I´ve been looking for a pattern. All I know is that I want something wearable. These are my options but sure there are  plenty more out there. Maybe you can help me choose.

Mi primera opción fué el cruzado, pero no sé como quedará con esta tela.

Ultimamente lo veo más como el de la izquierda , aunque el de la modelo es de punto fino. Tal vez con mi tela no quede bien (?)

My first option was the one on the right, the crossed front, but I don´t know how will it work with georgette. Lately I´ve been thinking that it will look better as the dress on the left, but that one is made of thin knit...

Ahora acabo de ver este. Es ponible, no? Como lo veis?

Por supuesto este del Burda de mayo es el que más me gusta, pero no me atrevo porque me salto lo de "ponible" ¿Veis alguna forma de modificar la espalda para que siga teniendo caida pero no tanta? Por cierto, delantero y espalda van al bies.... Que miedito!

Of course this one from Burda May is my favourite but there goes "wearable" jumping out of the window!

El viernes pasado al llegar a Sevilla, me acerqué al primer kisko que ví.¡Qué pronto sale el Burda desde que ha cambiado de editorial!

Bolero Alexis Carrington

¡Vale! Soy un poco exagerada. Pero esas mangas junto con la tela tan brillante me han hecho pensar en la malísima Alexis.
Alright! So maybe I´m exagerating a little, but those kind of puffy sleves and the shiny fabric made me think of the evil, evil Alexis

El patrón es del Burda del 2002 que os comentaba, pero con tanta lentejuela no vi lo de la copa de las mangas, pero mirad el dibujo de las piezas, y más con la tela tan rígida que compré. En fin. Alteraciones: acortar las mangas y sacar unas vistas para poner el forro, por que según burda el forro iba cosido tal cual a la chaqueta. Me pareció un poco chapucillas. Tampoco forré las mangas, por que ya parecía el yeti.

The pattern is from Burda 2002 as I told you on a previous post, but with all those sequins I didn´t notice the puffines. Just have a look at the pieces, and think of the thick fabric I´ve got. Oh well!
Alterations I made: Shorten the sleves and add facings to the lining. The instructions told me to sew the lining straight to the jacket but I thought that to be quite unprofessional. I didn´t line the sleeves. Too much extra bulk

Además de repartir fatal el frunce de las copas, hay algo que ha quedado fatal....¿lo veis?

The sleves gatherings are terrible, but there is something worst.. can you spot it?

El pelo no va a ir así de liso, que hoy he ido a la pelu, pero a mi sola no me sale, así que rizos naturales y andando.

My hair won´t go straight like this. Today I went to the hairdressers but I cannot manage that on my own, so it will be the old curly me.

Hola otra vez! No me he vuelto loca con la aguja, vaya por delante. Estos tres proyectos son cosas que tenía o bien cortadas e hilvanadas, a medio terminar o como esta primera, que no me ponía por que había algo raro que no terminaba de cuadrar. A esta camisa de florecillas azules lo que le pasaba es que tenia unas mangas farol que daban miedo. Mirad en la foto del sobre. Pues así. Es Vogue 8476 que ya está out of print.  Me gustaron los cortes que tenía y que habia varias versiones para elegir, pero por lo visto escogí la peor. Bueno, he descosido las mangas y las he hecho más pequeñas. Me encantan los botones, heredados de mi mami.

Hello again! Don´t worry, I did´t get sewing crazy. These three proyects were UFOs, so they weren´t too much work as they were cut and some of them, like this Vogue 8476, out of  print now, was completed but as I chose the worst possible option, puffy sleves, it looked really weird. Just have a look at the envelope drawing... exactly! So I ripped them off and made them smaller.

Lo peor de esta camisa, si os fijais en el detalle, es el cierre. No son ojales si no tiras cerradas de la misma tela. En teoria un detalle muy mono pero en la práctica la camisa visualmente está como torcida, además en cuanto me descuido voy enseñando el "suje"
It´s wereable now, but still the closure, those loops instead of button holes make the shirt open at times and also the simetry is not right for me. I love my buttons though.

Este es del Burda de Julio 2011. Estaba cortado y ni idea de como juntarlo. En su momento leí y releí las instrucciones y no lo veía. Luego vino el frio y lo abandoné. Bueno ya está terminado pero aparte de hacer un poco de daño a la vista no es como debería ser. Puedo vivir con eso y ponerlo con los shorts este verano.

This one is from Burda July 2011. It was cut but although I read the instructions several times I just couldn´t work it out. Then the cold weather came along and I just abandoned it. It´s finished, but not the way Burda intended. I can live with that and wear it with shorts this summer.

Por último este retal que compré en Santander el verano pasado que me encantó. Corté  uno de esos tops de cuello drapeado que tanto les gusta a los diseñadores de Patrones.Este es del n. 300 avance de Primavera modelo 29.Blusón cortefiel, se llama. Otro proyecto parado por los frios. Cosido y descosido tres veces. Aún así la manguilla ha quedado un poco flaccida.
Otra cosita más es que la parte delantera se ha quedado más larga que la trasera, pero como lo he hecho para poner "remetío" por unos pantalones de cintura alta no pasa "ná" No lo deshago más!

This is one of those things were you get the fabric first with no idea what to do. I didn´t have too much of it so I opted for this cowl neck pattern from Revista Patrones n. 300. Pattern n. 29. I sewed this thing three times. And I just couldn´t get the little sleve out of it´s floppyness. Also the back side is much shorter than the front. No big deal as I intend to wear it tucked in my high waisted jeans.

Niños de Fiesta. Children Party Outfits

¡Hola! ¿Que tal estamos llevando las vacaciones? Yo he ido con los niños a casa de mis padres en el Cabo de Gata, y como allí no tenía internet ni muchas distracciones me he dedicado a terminar los vestidos de los niños para las comuniones, y otras cositas que os iré enseñando.

Hello! How is the Easter Holiday going?
I went with the children to my parent´s home in Cabo de Gata, Almería, south east of Spain. I had no internet over there and not too many distractions so I finished the children´s party outfits and some other things I´ll show you soon.

El vestido de la niña no tiene mucho misterio. Un cuerpo sencillito arriba y una falda fruncida. El cuerpo va forrado y la falda lleva ¿enagua? a la que he añadido una tira gruesa y doble de la camisa del niño el la parte de abajo y de la que asoman unos tres dedos de la falda superior. Con un trozo de la tela de flores que destaca en el vestido le he hecho un lazo para la cintura. Traté de rematarlo con una puntada "rodada" con un prensatelas especial, pero al final la cinta ha quedado por algunos sitios dada de sí y un poco irregular. Nada que no se disimule con un buen doblado. Le tengo que añadir unas trabillas, eso sí.

The girl´s dress is quite simple. The bodice is lined and the gathered skirt too. At the bottom of the skirt lining I added a folded strip of the boy´s shirt fabric so it shows under the main skirt.
I also bought the flowery fabric and made a sash. I tried to finish it with a special presser- foot but the result is less than perfect.

El misterio:¿ Como es que despues de probarle el cuerpo 500 veces y ver que le iba a ir justito, justito, cuando lo tengo todo cosido se lo pongo y le sobran dos dedos de cada lado? El increible caso del vestido creciente.
There is a mistery to this dress: While trying it on the girl over and over it showed it was going to be quite tight on her, but when I finished (hand sewing and all) I had to take it in like three cm. from each side!

¿Por que nos ha puesto guapos y nos deja que juguemos en la arena? Aquí hay gato encerrado...
There is something fishy here: first she dress us up then she let us play in the sand...weird!

Lo del niño es una de las 200.000 camisas de niño que hay en el Burda o este caso Patrones. Lo dejé en cuello mao por gallina, que no me atreví con los picos.
The boy´s shirt is one of the 2000 boy´s shirts you can find in any Burda Mag or Patrones as in this case.
El pantalón es la version piqué del pantalón de cuero para niños del glorioso numero Burda Septiembre 2010. Según las medidas le hice la talla 98, fijandome en la de la cadera, pero le ha quedado un poco estrecho. Le puse el fondo de bolsillo de la tela de la camisa. Como mi hijo va con los pantalones caidos casi siempre, y su madre estaba un poco vaga, le puse elastico en la cinturilla y andando.
The pants are a piqué version of  boy´s leather pants in September 2010 Burda. I used some of the shirt fabric to line the pockets and  as my boy is always lifting his pants and her mum was a bit in the lazy side that day, I made an elastic band waist.

Ahora habia que hacer algo para tapar esa cinturilla. Se  me ocurrió un fajín con una linea de tela del vestido de la hermana en el que no apareciera nada rojo, y  la parte de dentro de la tela de su camisa. Cuatro tiras atras para atar por detras (se ve mejor en la última foto). Es algo raro, pero no me disgusta. La cara que tiene el niño en las fotos es por que no le gustan las chumberas, nada que ver con el fajín!

Now, trying to cover that waist I made a boy´s sash. I used fabric from the girl´s dress, and the inside is the same as his shirt. I add 4 strips to tie at the back. So it´s a bit weird but I like it. My son´s face in the pictures are showing dislike for the enviroment, NOT for his outfit!!! ;-)

Ahora solo queda comprarles unas chaquetitas rojas y zapatos a juego. Ah! y unos lacitos para el pelo.

Now I just have to get them some red jackets and red shoes... and something nice for the girl´s hair!

Mira, un poco más y me sirve de paracaidas!
Slightly smaller than a parachute

La sesión de fotos fué muy divertida. Les puse el chandal encima de la ropa, y fuimos de excursión por una ruta en el cabo. Mi intencion era hacerles las fotos en un molino pero había un ventarrón que se me volaban los churumbeles, y salian en las fotos con unas caras! Así que seguimos caminando hasta la playa y luego volvimos por otro camino ¡llegaron rendidos a casa!

The foto shoot was very entertaining. I made them wear their tracksuits over the clothes as it wasn´t warm enough, and march them to an old mill... too windy  to take pics there. Some more marching to the beach then back to the village, they were so exhausted when we came back home they eat like wolfes!

Mamá, por favor, compranos unos zapatos de fiesta!
