¿Que Prendas Necesito? Vestido Trotero Burda 03/2011 #130

La semana pasada me salté el reto ¿Que prendas necesito? por falta de tiempo. Era la "Blusa Formal" y yo me he quedado sin ella. Podeis ver las blusas que se han hecho las participantes AQUI/HERE.

Peeeero el vestido "trotero" no me lo podía perder. Porque es que no tenía ninguno. Casi todos mis vestidos de invierno son para ir muy puesta. ¡Solucionado!

Last week I missed the challenge ¿Que prendas necesito? for lack of time. It was the "Formal blouse" to go with the formal trousers and I´m left blouse-less: boo-hoo! You can see what the other participants made AQUI/HERE

Buuut the "All-Purpose dress" is something I couldn´t miss. All my winter dresses are a bit too elegant to be worn with flat shoes for example. I think this one is just perfect!

Para encontrar lo que quería he tenido que poner patas arriba todos las revistas y todos los patrones hasta que dí con uno que me pareció cómodo y bonito. ¡Ah! y sencillito de hacer.

Nunca me hubiera fijado en este modelito de no haber sido por el reto. Yo creo que no tengo ni un polo en mi armario ni en el frigo,( lo siento tenia que hacer el chiste, es superior a mí) me agobian los cuellos en general. Pero a partir de ahora tela de jersey que encuentre, polito que me hago. Este mismo modelo pero hasta la cadera.

To find a suitable pattern for an easy to wear dress I had to go though all my magazines (they are watching a lot of action this autumn!) until I found a patten that seemed comfortable and nice,oh! and easy to make!

I would have never give this pattern a second look if it wasn´t for the challenge. I don´t think I own a single polo-shirt-style item. I don´t like how they look on me. But after I finished this dress I think I will be using this pattern again to make a couple of jumpers.

Es bastante suelto, pero yo creo que por definición un vestido trotero no tiene que ser entalladísimo ¿No?

Tambien estoy contenta con el jersey que he usado: estaba de oferta a 2 euros el metro...y huele a oveja mojada cuando lo planchas así que supongo que lleva algo de lana. Es calentiiiitoooo!

It is a loose dress but I guess that, by definition, an "all-purpose" dress cannot be too fitted, can it?

I´m also quite happy with the knit I used: I found it at 2 euros per meter...and it smells like damp sheep when you iron it, so I suppose it conteins a fair amount of wool. It is warm!

Y la tapeta del cuello que es lo único que da un poco de trabajo en este vestido.

Me ha salido bien, de ahí la cara esa que tengo. Por cierto si alguien piensa en este tipo de cuellos tengo un tuto AQUI/HERE

Usé snaps de martillazo que ya soy adicta.

The polo placket is the only thing that needs some attention in the making of this dress.

It turned out quite good despite some problems, hence that face of mine. By the way, if someone needs a tuto for this kind of placket I have a little tutorial AQUI/HERE

I used hammer on snaps. I´m addicted!

Detalles que me gustan: tapé las costuras del cuello con bies, cosido a mano y tanto las mangas como el bajo van rematados con aguja doble. 

Details that I like: I hid the seams at the neckline with bias. Never did it before and I like it!

Also the hem and sleeves are finished with double needle.

Me gusta por que es muy cómodo, calentito, vistosillo con esos colores pero no es perfecto:

¡No tiene bolsillos!

Mod Dress Tutorial Part 2

¿Seguimos?

Estabamos con el forro. Ya habíamos sacado la parte de arriba de la misma tela que el vestido. Vamos a sacar la de abajo con telita de forro, para que resbalen bien los leotardos.

We are dealing with the lining. The top part we had cut it in the same fabric as the dress. The lower part we make it in lining fabric.

Aqui falta una foto importante que no sé donde se ha metido: Alrededor de las sisas, hombros y cuellos del vestido le ponemos el VIVO, lo hilvanamos y entonces cosemos el forro.

A photo is missing here: We place the PIPING arround the armholes, shoulders and neckline of the dress, we baste it and then we stitch the lining.

Ahora cosemos las vistas de los bajos del vestido. Lo planchamos bien y le pulimos los cantos vivos. Después, a mano lo cosemos con puntadas escondidas para que no se note por el derecho.

Now we stitch the hem facings to the dress. After that we iron and finish the edges. Then we place the hem with hidden stitches (is that a sewing term?) 

Al dobladillo del forro con un "vuelta y vuelta" le vale.

Almost there!

Solo te queda colocar unos botones, snaps (de los normales o de los de martillazo) y ya lo tienes. Yo le he cosido automáticos (3 en cada lado) y los botones están ahi solo para hacer bonito.

Se que el tuto es un poco chapucilla pero no se donde se han ido las otras fotos. 

En fín. La próxima lo haré mejor.

To finish the dress you just need to choose the way you want to close the shoulders. You can choose regular buttons and buttonholes or, as in my case, three snaps on each shoulder and add the buttons as decoration.

I know this tuto is lacking a lot of photos but I honestly don´t know where there are!

Haciendo el Vestido Mod Dress Tutorial. Part 1

¡Buenaaaas! ¿Como llevais la semana? Yo liada, como todas vosotras, pero he podido sacar un ratito para preparar esta especie de tuto, por si alguna está interesada en hacer un vestido de este tipo.

Es muy sencillo y solo necesitais un patrón de vestido evasé con las medidas de la niña en cuestión.

Espejito tiene cientos de miles en todas las tallas. 

Este vestido va forrado y con vivo por todos lo sitios. El cierre lo hacemos en los hombros, así nos evitamos el engorro de cremalleras o cierres traseros

Vamos al lio.

Hello! How is the week going? At last I could find a little time to write this kind of tutorial, in case somebody is interested in making something similar.

All you need is an A- line pattern.

This dress is lined and has got piping everywhere. It is closed at the shoulders with snaps.

Lo primero desmontar el patrón:

Vamos  a hacer un monton de lineas:

1- en los centros verticales, con la mitad de la anchura de la banda central . En mi caso la banda quiero que mida 9 cm, para que me quepan 3 cochecitos, así que mido 4.5 cm.

2- otra banda horizontal con la misma medida.

3- Una linea un poco mas abajo de la linea de la sisa para hacer la parte de arriba del forro el forro.

Veis que en el dibujo hay dos lineas que parten de la sisa hacia abajo. No las tomeis en cuenta, es que no sabia que anchura darle abajo y estuve dandole vueltas.

First thing is trace tracing the lines of the dress on your pattern. 

We are going to draw a lot of lines:

1- At the centers a vertical line half the width of the contrasting band. In this case I want the band to be 9 cm wide so I measure 4.5 cm.

2- Two horizontal lines, 9 cm wide apart.

3- A line a bit under the armhole to make the upper part of the lining.

You can see in the pattern two different flare lines. Don´t mind about those. That´s me having doubts.

Una vez hecho esto, transladamos todos los patrones a otros papeles, añadiendo sus márgenes de costura.( a mi se me olvidó en los centros) 

Para las bandas no hace falta patron: solo cortar dos bandas una horizontal, otra vertical de 9 cm más los márgenes que suelas utilizar.

El patrón del forro aún sin cortar, Ese se corta en dos: parte de arriba hasta la sisa y luego la de abajo. Luego volvemos a ello.
Ah, y también saqué los patrones para las vistas del bajo.

Now we transfer all those lines to separate patterns and we add they corresponding seam allowances (I forgot to add the on the front but wrote me a little note not to forget!)
The white pattern in the photo is the one I used for the lining, and the little ones are for the hem facings.

Cortamos en la tela:

2 partes superiores delanteras

2 partes superiores traseras

2 partes inferiores delanteras 

2 partes inferiores traseras

En el doblez ponemos las partes de arriba del forro.

Separadamente cortamos las bandas de la tela de contraste (lo siento, de eso no hay foto, pero soy muy listucas así que seguro que no hay problemas)

On the main fabric we cut:

2 upper front parts

2 lower front parts

2 upper back parts

2 lower back parts

On the fold we place the front and back upper parts of the lining

Separately we cut the contrast fabric bands (I have to photos of that, but I guess you can figure that one out ;)

Y empezamos a coser. Primero ponemos el vivo, y lo sujetamos con alfileres. Luego un hilvan para que no se mueva. Lo demás lo explican las fotos:
And we start sewing. First we pin the piping, then baste so that it won´t move.
The next photos are self-explanatory.

Esto lo hacemos en las ocho piezas de fuera. 

We do this in the eight pieces 

Las bandas de los cochecitos, aqui irreconocibles por una capa de entretela. No cosemos hasta el borde para poder maniobrar a la hora de unirlo a las otras piezas.

This are my contrasting bands, that´s the back that I interfaced, to make stiffer. We don´t stitch all the way so that we can manoeuvre when we attach them to the other pieces 

La parte más trabajosa es unir nuestra cruz a las cuatro piezas delanteras y las 4 traseras.

This is the worst part: joining all the parts toguether. More basting!

Y no me da tiempo a más.

Petites Filles a Croquer "q"

¡Hola, amigachas! ¿Como ha ido el fin de semana? Aquí ha hecho buenísimo y hemos aprovechado para celebrar el cumple del peque en el campo. 

Os dije que esta semana no iba a coser nada, tenia pensado preparar el tutorial del vestido de vestido que hice para la Maratón Telaria AQUI/HERE. Pero estoy teniendo muchos problemas para editar las fotos, así que al final para quitarme de tanta frustración le hice este top a la enana. ¿Os acordais de los pantalones que parecían una falda? AQUI/HERE ¿ Y os acordais que pensé que necesitaba un jersey verde? Pues aquí está.

Es la letra "q" de el libro PETITE FILLES A CROQUER, y se hace en un pis-pas. La única pega es que se supone que es hasta la talla doce y mi niña con 8 años ya usa la talla más grande. Tengo que darme prisa para hacerle los demás modelos.

Hello friends! How was your weekend? Here it´s still warm and nice so we went to the forest to celebrate my boy´s B-day party.

I told you I was not going to sew this week. Well, I just couldn´t help myself! I´ve been trying to make a tutorial on how to make the dress I sewed for the Maraton Telaria AQUI/HERE. But I had so many problems editing the photos I just gave up and sewed this. Do you remember those trousers that looked like a skirt from AQUI/HERE? And that I said then, that they needed a green jumper to match. Well, here it is!

It´s letter "q" from the book PETITE FILLES A CROQUER, and it´s really quick to make. My only complaint about this book is that my daughter, who is 8 is using size 12. And that´s the biggest size of the book. And at the rate my girl is growing up, I´d better hurry!

El cuello es muy abierto, así que es para llevar una camiseta por debajo, tal como aparece en el libro.

Lo de las playeras totalmente descoordinadas con el resto me lo vais a tener que perdonar, es que estas son las que corren más rápido y saltan más alto!

The collar is crossed and quite open. It should be worn with a t-shirt underneath, as it appears in the book.

The totally unmatching trainers can be explained: those are the ones that runs the fastest and jump the highest!

Durante la fiesta probaron los "marshmallows" y les gustaron a rabiar.

El aplique de la huella de perro es lo que más le gusta a ella del top. La plantilla la saqué de AQUI/HERE

During the party the kids tried  the "open fire marshmallow experience" and they were delighted!

The dog paw applique is the thing she likes best about her new jumper. I found the pattern for it AQUI/HERE

Vista lateral del top. Los frunces con el lazo (en las fotos ya iba completamente desatado) le dan un toque especial.

Side view. The gathered sides with a ribbon (it is untied here, but it was previously in a neat bow) gives this jumper a nice touch

Para cuando llegó la hora de soplar las velas el top ya había quedado aparcado en algún rincón.

When the time came to blow the candles the top was long gone!

Y como veis, el pantalón que parece falda cumple totalmente su función: Esmorrillarte sin que se te vean las braguitas.

And as you can see, the trousers that look like a skirt are fulfilling their purpouse: to fall with a split and still look proper!

Pues nada, guapas. Os recomiendo este libro. De verdad.

¿Que Prendas Necesito? Pantalón Básico

¡Otra vez aquí! Parece que no hago más que coser, pero no... En serio. Mis hijos comen y eso.

Hoy os traigo los pantalones para el reto de Mónica ¿Que Prendas Necesito?

Tocaba pantalón basico así formalito y he estado a punto de hacerme unos del último Patrones que compré que podeis ver AQUI/HERE. Pero lo último que me apetecía era trazar patrones y mucho menos escornarme intentando descifrar las instrucciones. Así que tiré por la calle de en medio y opté por un patrón Vogue:

Es un traje completo: pantalón, chaqueta y blusa. 

Me encantan estos patrones porque puedes poner el automático y no se necesita pensar. Además siempre aprendes alguna técnica nueva. En mi caso: bolsillos con costura francesa. ¡No sé como no se me había ocurrido antes!

Here again! I know it looks like I do nothing but sew...That´s not true. Really! I feed my family and all! ;)

These are the trousers I made for Monica´s Challenge ¿Que Prendas Necesito?

This week it was basic, formal trousers and I was very inclined to make some for the last Patrones magazine you can see AQUI/HERE. But the last thing I needed was to trace patterns or puzzle my brain with the instructions. Instead I used a Vogue pattern:

It is a complete suit: trousers, jacket and blouse.

I love these patterns! You can switch the automatic mode and no need to think, just follow the instructions. Besides I always learn something new construction-wise. This time is was the french seams pockets. Why didn´t I think of that before!

Es un pantalón ligeramente acampanado y muy subido de talle con bolsillos delanteros.

He usado un crepe marrón chocolate, que compré el año pasado en la tienda "cara" donde voy de vez en cuando (principio de mes) Lleva un 4% de elastán y tiene un brillo ligero, no muy exagerado.

No se arrugan mucho pero estas fotos me las han hecho después de estar toda la mañana subiendo y bajando del coche. Unas arruguillas se marcan al final...

The trousers are fitted, slightly flared with raised waist and mock band, carries, side front pockets and fly zipper with hook closure. 

I used a brown chocolate crepe I bought last year in the shop visit sometimes on the fist days of the month (the expensive one ) It contains 4% elastan (I asked) and it is slightly shiny, not to much.

It doesn´t crease a lot but these photos were taken after a morning of jumping in and out of the car and well, the trpusers don´t look as good as they did early in the morning.

Ha sido muy fácil hacerlo y lo mejor: no he tenido que modificar nada, lo he cosido tal cual, y me queda como un guante (de los de látex diria yo), eso no me ha pasado nunca con ningún pantalón Vogue. Mirad por detrás. No se puede llevar con bragas abueleras.

They were very easy to make once I chose the size. Not the envelope size, mind you. I´m wiser now and made sure of the measure in the paper pattern: By the envelope I should have made a 14, by the pattern a 10. Way to go, Vogue!

So I made a 10 and it fits like a glove. Like a surgical glove. Can´t wear these with regular knickers!

Los costados. La construccion de la cintura y bolsillos es muy interesante.

 Y esto es lo que te permite hacer un 4% de elastán en el crep. Patada circular al estilo Chuck Norris. ¡Ahí lo llevas!

And this is what a 4% elastan in the crepe allows you to do. Round kick, Chuck Norris style! 

Today is Dolph Lundgren´s b-day! He is also good at this!

Pues nada, hermosas: Esta semana no puedo coser porque tengo cumples varios y lo que voy a tener que hacer son tartas a tutiplén. Así que cosed un poquito por mi.

Maratón Telaria. A Dormir

¡Hala, a dormir! (maravillosas palabras)

Mi niña lleva tiempo pidiendome un pijama "de salchicha" como les llama ella. Debe ser que echa de menos su época de cuando era pequeña (?) El caso es que de su talla no los hacen. A partir de cuatro-cinco años se cerró el grifo. 

Y aquí estoy yo pa darle gusto. 

Good night, sweet dreams...Oh, I love those words! They usually mean I have some time for myself and my sewing proyects!

Julia has been asking for  "sausage" pajamas, as she calls these. She might be missing her baby phase. Sadly they don´t usually make them above size 6.

But her mum can sew!

He agarrado dos patrones del Burda. Uno de una camiseta manga ranglan y otra de un pantalón básico de los de elástico en la cinturilla. Es que no me pregunteis porque en estos momentos tengo tal lío de revistas que no soy capaz de encontralos. En fin, uno cualquiera que sea su talla.

Los corté por separado y los uní por la cintura. Ahí aplaudo a los señores del Vogue que te mancan en todos los patrones donde te va a quedar el pecho, la cintura y a cadera. Burda pasa. Y patrones creo que tambien. Pues a mi me parece la mar de útil. Aqui hay que medir la espalda a la niña y luego unir por lo que tú creas que es su cintura. Método "a ojo"

A ver que me despisto

Añadí al frente unos centímetros para hacer el cierre.

I took two different Burda patterns: one is a ranglan sleeve sweater and the other one a basic trouser with elastisized waistband. Don´t ask me which ones exactly, at the moment all my magazines and pattern are a mess, I can´t find them. In short, you can use whichever fits the bill.
I traced them separately then joined them at waist level. Don´t you love how Vogue and other brands mark the waist-hip lines? Well, Burda doesn´t. 
I measured my girl´s back and then just eye-balled it.
Then I added the front facings .

La tela la ví en una tienda que se llama "El Kilo" y no, no vende la tela al peso, más quisiera yo!. Estaba con los retales y la verdad con ese print tan alegre a la par que invernal, me pareció ideal. La pena es que no me dió para hacerle otro al hermano que se ha quedado mosqueadillo. 

The fabric is a knit I found in a little shop. There was very little of it, but it had "sleeping material" writen all over it. But they only had very little of it. Dear Jaime has been left out this time and he is not happy about it!

¡Que felicidad saltar en las camas!

Los puños están "canivalizados" de una sudadera de su padre. Como estaban un poco sobadillos usé la parte de dentro como la parte de fuera. ¡Como nuevos!

The elastic red fabric in the cuffs and neckline have been cannivalized from one of my husband´s sweaters. They were not in great condition so I used the inside to be my outside (Am I making any sense at all??)
Good as new!

Y estos son mis primeros automáticos "de martillazo" ¡Que gozada! Mucho mejor que hacer ojales, donde va a parar. Eso sí le puse entretela primero a la zona botonil.

El cuello ha quedado un poco raro, pero despues de dos lavadoras está más planito

And these are my first hammer-on snaps. Much better than making button-holes! I interfaced the facings first (I´m learning!)
The neck line didn´t come out so good but two washes and two ironings later they lay flat.

Pues esta es mi humilde aportación al tema "A dormir". A ver que nos teneis preparado las demás.
